Everybody knows the Kardashian sisters - everybody! You either love them or hate them, but I bet you know them.
Elton John was alleged to have said "Who the F*** is Kim Kardashian?" in early February this year. However, he was seen cosying up to her at the Oscars party only a few weeks later. Even celebrities know how to use the Kardashian power house to their advantage.
And the Kardashian phenomena is everywhere - TV, magazines, books, music and their endorsements cover a wide range of products including weight loss supplements, skin care, jewellery and perfumes. Whatever this family puts it name to, it sells. They are the equivalent of an Oprah episode but in family form!
It has been stated that they are "famous for being famous" however these girls know how to work. They own and co-ordinate 3 Boutique clothing stores across the USA, have a clothing design endorsement with Bebe fashion house, QVC shopping channel and have their own designer jewellery range. They have 3 television reality shows running on numerous channels consecutively and Kim Kardashian has just launched a singing career. People may scoff but these girls have a very strong work ethic and work hard for their fame and their money. Which is probably why "The Hollywood Reporter" revealed that "Kardashian Inc"made $65 million last year. You can't do that sitting on your backside.

The thing that fascinates me is that not only are these girls work savvy but also extremely beautiful. The reason they grace so many magazine covers is because beauty sells- and that's what got me thinking.

After spending an afternoon flicking through some trash mags with a friend, I commented on how I thought the Kardashians were so attractive. My friend commented that I could be that attractive too- if I had their money. I questioned her on this. Surely money couldn't be the only factor in being beautiful. What about beauty enhancements that didn't include a needle - fresh air, exercise, diet and good ole fashion make-up? Was it all about plastic surgery, $500 caviar facials and face fillers? Could someone like me - an ordinary Joanna Blogs (no pun intended) look good without succumbing to the new multi-dollar make-over?

Could Trash become Kardash with a lot less Cash? I was about to find out.
